A few just for fun

I thought I’d keep it short today and post a few “hmmm” type memes.

Once you think about it you realize just how true this is.

Aaaaand then we go to this end of the spectrum. LOL Makes you wonder what you’ve done or what quirk you have that has made someone talk about you. I use that thought to keep me occupied and my mind off of the procedure when I have a CT or MRI of my head done.

When I’m Cranky

With all of the changes to my medication, new symptoms, and other not-so-fun details, I’ve been cranky off and on a lot lately. I’m on a new mood stabilizer and we’re titrating up to full dose, so I’m cranky when the three drugs lose their potency. Since I realized what an old fart I become, I’ve tried to either become more introverted than usual or try to find things that cheer me up. (Note: preview won’t let me check that the links work. If they don’t, please let me know and I’ll fix it as soon as I’m up.)

One such resource is the awesome Deva parodies, from MyLifeSuckers. I think we were watching some old Rhett and Link song parodies and YouTube recommended one of her parodies, and we’ve been hooked ever since. Her parody of “Look What You Made Me Do” is one of our favorites. “Bad Blood” and “Hello” follow closely behind, but honestly, we love it all. We were both subscribed after the second video and then spent a week sneaking in old videos every spare minute. *laugh* It’s impossible to stay grumpy after a few videos or even reading her blog. I hope I’m even a hundredth of what a fun and creative mom that she is, and hope to learn to not worry about others making fun of me. She is someone I really look up to.

We also watch Facts. on YouTube, but they’re not as family friendly. It’s the Irish version of BuzzFeed in some ways. Irish people have to taste test foods and drinks, try to do things while drunk, and comment on American shows that they’d never seen until the filming. It’s been fascinating to see how different taste preferences vary between countries and a lot of the people are actually comedians, so they can be real hams. My favorite episode is when they attempt to make slime for the first time. Next would be “Surgeons Playing Surgeon Simulator“. I’m pretty sure I snorted I laughed so hard the first time. *grin*

Their show often has John Sharpson on it and he has a family friend YouTube show called Sharuf, and it is such a cheerful show. Rufus Bluestuff, the monster muppet, is actually part of the inspiration for creating an actual Monster themed product line, and my hope this year is to make enough products to send a fun care package to them with lots of themed goodies. It helps that I’m obsessed with Ireland and I get all nerded out thinking about mailing a package to someone in Ireland. *laugh* I know – the weirdest things make me happy.

So, hopefully if you’re having a bout of the grumps too, you’ll check them out and find one or two that help lift your spirits. We need to pamper our hearts and minds just as much as our bodies, so I can always justify jumping down the YouTube rabbit hole. 🙂

Random Amusement

I’m really sick today (Fibro is NOT proud of me for getting out 3 times in one week!), so instead of responding to readers as I had planned, or writing that empowerment post, I’m going to post some pins that really amuse me. I think we all could use a few smiles, even if you save this until your sick day.

The following I would LOVE to do for our adoption announcement, when that dream ever becomes a reality, but I don’t have the nerve to be a Smart aleck like this…

And the next ones I can SO imagine L doing for Kiddo…

The last is one I have always thought was an odd saying and I laugh every single time I read this one. This is how my mind works, folks. And I finally found someone else posting the same kinds of thoughts. LOL

Healthy and happy wishes to everyone! 🙂

Just a Little Fun

After such an emotional post yesterday (ended up finishing today, but that’s because it took almost two hours for me to finish writing it! lol), I decided that today I just want to post a few fun things.  First, I cut off all my hair a few weeks ago, in the middle of the night, and on the way to a hockey game with friends and Scouts, I had some fun with Snapchat.  Yep, I’m still learning and making sure I don’t forget how to use it by the time we get Kiddo.  Of course, I’ll have probably ten more teen used apps to learn by then, but in the meantime, enjoy some funny pics, especially since we don’t like to have our pic taken (although we’re working on it, since there will be lots of family pictures taken!).

(My pic is about two months old there and no, I’ve never been daring enough to wear dark makeup.  *grin*)

I found this pin one day and it was perfect for me.  I am incredibly challenged when it comes to directions, spatial awareness, and navigation.  I have an excuse though!  They have actually made a connection to Fibro being a likely cause, since our brains are kind of incorrectly wired.  Plus, I think “take a left at the big tree just past the red barn, then a right after the vet’s clinic, and then go straight for a couple of miles until you finally see a mailbox on the left side – take a right and go up that driveway” is a completely viable form of directions.  *laugh* I learned a long time ago to pass the direction giving on to others.  I’d be worse than the sat-nav telling you to turn right when it’s now a lake.  I admit my failings.  🙂

Wickedly Yummy!

I’m a little out of it from adjusting to my new medications, but one stops my chronic nausea and vomiting, so I’ve had a pleasant day of napping and eating. *laugh* I had ordered some things through Amazon PrimePantry recently to try to tempt my appetite, while having my problems, and now I’m like Taz from the cartoons, but tearing through our pantry instead. And I discovered that some of those temptation foods are incredible when your stomach feels normal! However, I feel it is my duty to share one that I am quickly becoming obsessed with that is going to add a whole extra round of working out in a few days.

If you are an Amazon member and a chocoholic, then you MUST try this! If you don’t like doing a pantry box, you can buy a two pack through basic prime, too. 😉 Seriously though, you can spread on fruit or even just eat it out of the jar with a spoon in a dark corner like the little chocoholic that doesn’t want to be discovered attacking a food. That might just be something that only I do, though. Lol So, if you have a membership or needed just one more benefit to help you decide if the membership fee is worth it, this only available on Prime ambrosia should tip the scales and you must try this. Seriously, it’s worth the calories and doesn’t get refrigerated, so you can sneak a silky smooth spoonful any.time.you.want. It’s good enough I used popular culture’s period between words concept and you know how snobby I can be about punctuation. *laugh* Have a wonderful rest of your day or evening! I’ll be nestled in my corner of the couch with my jar of spread until my sedative kicks in. Leave the spoon there please if I fall asleep with it in my mouth. 😉

The Silence

Just a little reminder for my fellow Whovians…

So far no one has commented about the marks on my arm and hand. I think I’m one of the few in my area to wave the nerd flag though, so I’m not too surprised. *laugh*

“And I Helped”

My poor mailman delivered the first load of my Amazon lightning sales stuff, so I started wrapping presents tonight. Little Miss Abby got in trouble by smacking the scissors as I cut paper, ripping the wrapping paper itself as well, and decided to dig around in my tissue paper and ribbon organizer (and made a big ole mess of it too! Lol). She acted like queen bee for having “helped”, but she was quite a handful. I couldn’t be angry when I saw where she had settled. The flash made her squint, but she had the cutest, most proud of herself, face at the time and how cute is it that she climbed into the organizer?!

She also got brave and finally smacked one of the catnip bubbles that Larry blew for the fur babies. She’s a holy terror most of the time, but little cute moments like these make it so worth while.

By the way, the title is a line from a really old commercial for Shake ‘N Bake. The little girl looked a lot like my mom’s childhood pictures, so I used to say that line to tease her and get her all riled up. *grin* I couldn’t resist it when I thought of Abby helping.

Well, I’m going to go back to wrapping before the next wave arrives tomorrow, so I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and don’t forget to look for one of those special moments to make all of the frustration worth while. 🙂
